1 Year On

Well we’ve made it to October 21st 2017. Exactly a year to the day when I opened to virtual doors to this blog, Tales of a Professional Procrastinator, and began filling your screens with my (occasionally nonsense) words. Welcome everyone!

I’ve been looking back at the last 12 months and reliving some of the moments I wrote about. It has been a lightning fast year and so much has changed. People have come and go, others have become more important to me and life has gone on.

The point of this post is to look at those 6 goals I started with in October 2016 and see how far I have come. Grab some popcorn, perhaps a glass of wine and a blanket. (Wine and blanket both optional but recommended in this awful weather!) Let’s take a look

Write A Blog

I think it is pretty safe to say that I have managed to keep to this goal. True, some of the months have not had the same volume of posts as the others. Nevertheless, this cute little blog page that I am so proud of is still ticking. Something I am very much pleased about.

Write A Book

By now, I would have told you if I had managed to publish a book. The truth is I haven’t.  These past 12 months, I have started 3 new book projects. One of which has 12 chapters thus-far. Perhaps that isn’t much for you, but for me it will do for now! Watch this space, I haven’t given up yet!!!

Work Out Daily

Haha. Haha. Haha. Haha.

Who was I honestly kidding with this one?! No, I have not been working out daily for the last 365days. I’m positive that I would have the most insane body of my life to date if I had but a mixture of sleep and food always wins out! What I have been doing is exercising at least 3 days a week ( I use this statement extremely loosely…) and trying to be careful with my diet. As previously stated, a mixture of food and sleep tend to always win out!

Achieve Body Goals

I am not where I want to be, but I am not far away. I am also learning to love the body I have *insert smiley face*

Make An Effort When Leaving The House And For All Occasions

Bar that one time 3 weeks ago, I’m pretty confident with this  one. I have grown to learn that making an effort doesn’t always mean a face full of make-up or your best Sunday outfit. It means being clean, put together, smelling nice and not looking untidy. I have a perfume post coming in a few weeks along with another post on my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE body products. All of which have helped me keep in line with this goal.

Establish A Successful Business

This was never going to be a one year and done kind of goal. This is something that takes years to achieve and master. However, I have exciting news! I currently have two clients with whom I am working with and plenty more ideas in the pipeline. I have also returned to college (evening study) to help me along my way. Another space to watch, because I promise you (and myself) that I will get there.

Safe to say, it has been a busy year for everyone. So much has happened in the world and so many things have changed for the people close to me. I would like to end this post with a few motivating words (I have paraphrased slightly) that were offered to me just yesterday. Hold onto them and remember them, because you are capable of anything.

“Tell me what you want to. What’s the dream? Focus on that, tell yourself that you can do it and one day you’re going to make it a reality. Make it the center of everything you do and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t have it. This isn’t what you want to be doing for the rest of your life so go out and get what you want!”

Keep dreaming!
